The Women's Ministry at East Sunshine is dedicated to enhancing, strengthening, and serving members of this congregation and the community.
Whether "official" or "unofficial", the women of this congregation strive to Share Life in Jesus. We strive to become closer to each other through Bible study, fellowship, fun, eating together, and serving together.
One of the on-going ministries of East Sunshine is the Ladies' Bible Class that meets during the school year on Tuesday mornings at 10 o'clock to study the scriptures together and share our lives.
Generation-to-Generation is a ministry that specifically facilitates inter-generational fellowship. This opportunity to share life in Jesus includes great food, fun, study, fellowship and personal testimony of what God is doing in each of our individual journeys. It meets four times during the school year on the third Monday night of September, November, January, and March. There is a Women's Banquet in May.
Once or twice a year there is a Ladies' Day or a Ladies' Retreat planned. This event may be away or at home. We plan a theme, have a speaker and spend time together in devotion, study, fellowship, fun and prayer.
We have a group of ladies that meet on Monday night for fellowship and another group that meets once a month on Tuesday night. We also have groups that gather as prayer warriors and accountability partners to support each other and seek God's guidance.
We have a group of women who serve the community by sewing. Many local groups such a women's shelters, nursing homes, and children's facilities are provided with blankets, quilts, bibs, toys etc.
Many women "just do it". Shut-ins, those who are ill at home, in the hospital, or those in nursing homes will probably be served by one of our women. Those who are getting married, or have a new baby will probably be given a shower to help celebrate this special moment in their lives. Those who have lost a loved one in death often will be provided food at their home and/or a funeral meal at the church building. Homeless will be fed, children will be clothed, and garage sales will fund missionaries. Groceries will be bought, food will be served, and comfort and support will be offered. Recipes will be swapped, and childcare shared. We laugh together, and we cry together as we Share Life in Jesus.
