ARE YOU READY TO GET flipt?

This summer the Big DOG and JAM kids, K - 5th grade ('08-'09 school year), will experience flipt, a unique program designed to help kids learn they can choose to live their way or they can get flipt by Jesus and live His way because it's the best way!  Dynamic, Biblical key concepts such as "Say no to sin" and "Forgive for free" will be taught with creative video messages and interactive games.

The Jungle GEM Celebration was Sunday, April 26.  Approximately 80 people shared a meal together and then had a great time at the carnival.  There was an inflatable with a jumping area and slide.  The carnival games included:  choose a duck from the "duck pond", ring toss, bean bag toss and limbo.  This event was for the families of 3 - 5 year olds and is held each year. 

Our Mission:

Kids' Community exists to partner with parents in laying down a spiritual foundation that will, in God's timing, lead a child to know, love and follow Jesus Christ.

Our Goals:

We want to provide a place where children have so much FUN learning about how awesome God is that they don't want to miss a single week . . . where the music is so contemporary and engaging that the children leave humming the tunes, and the words help them remember Biblical truths all week long . . . where the Bible is taught using creative teaching techniques.  Video and drama are used effectively to teach this media-driven generation about how to share life in Jesus at home, at school and in their neighborhoods.  We want to provide a place where children are emotionally, spiritually and physically safe . . . a place where children share life in Jesus with each other in small groups and Small Group Leaders love and encourage children while modeling Jesus . . . a place where learning center activities such as games, crafts, service projects and more enrich the Bible story.  This is the kind of place we want Kids' Community to be.

 Kids' Community is a Sunday morning program for children ages birth - 6th grade.  We meet every Sunday morning from 9:30 to 11:35.  Parents and children meet together at 9:00 and the children spend precious time worshipping God with their families before being dismissed at 9:30 to enter their own worship time designed especially for them.  Kids' Community meets in colorfully designed hallways according to age:

TAG Time (Toddling After God) is for our babies, birth - 36 months.  Laying down a spiritual foundation begins in these early formative years.  These children meet in Rooms 101, 102, 111, 112 and 113.  We want our babies and toddlers to KNOW that God made them, God loves them and Jesus wants to be their forever friend.

Our 3 - 5 year olds meet in the east downstairs hallway.  We call these precious children our Jungle GEM kids (God's Emerging Masterpieces).  We want every preschooler to KNOW that God made them, God loves them and Jesus wants to be their forever friend.

The downstairs west hallway is the home for our kindergarten - 2nd grade called Big DOGs.  Big DOGs stands for Big Disciples Of God.  These kids are learning how to become 5-G kids.  Kids who are developing in grace, growth, groups, gifts and good stewardship. 

Our JAM kids (Jesus And Me) meet upstairs in the west hallway.  These 3rd - 5th graders are diving deeper into their relationship with Jesus.  They know how to be 5-G kids and are learning that they can trust God no matter what, need to treat others the way they want to be treated and they can make wise choices.

Tweener Town is a special class for our 6th graders.  They stay with the adults for the entire worship service and then go to Room 217 for their class.  We recognize that 6th graders need special attention during that in between time of elementary and teenage years.  This class meets those special needs and also has several group activities outside of the class.

We want all our children to be emotionally, spiritually and physically safe.  To ensure their physical safety, we register all babies, age birth - 36 months at the age appropriate rooms:

                                7 - 12 months               Room 102

                                12 - 18 months            Room 113

                                19 - 24 months            Room 112

                                25 - 36 months            Room 111

Each parent/guardian will receive a pager.  This allows us to contact a parent if needed at any time during the morning, and for safety reasons, ensures that no one will be able to pick up that child except the person who dropped them off. 

Children ages 3 years - 5th grade are registered at the Welcome Center.  All children are given name tags and parents of children ages 3 years - 2nd grade are given a matching name tag to be used when picking up their child.  This assure that no one may pick up the child other than the person who dropped the child off.

LTC or Leadership Training for Christ is a Wednesday night program for 3rd - 6th grade designed to challenge these kids to greater service to God.  LTC encourages and stimulates spiritual, mental and social growth in our youth.  LTC strives to achieve this growth by developing skills in leadership, Bible knowledge and Christian servanthood.  All 3rd - 6th graders meet on Wednesdays from 7:00 - 7:45 in Rooms 205-206 and are invited to attend the annual LTC Conference in Kansas City.

LTC will not meet during June - August.
